OYO STATE TO PROCURE DRUGS WORTH N177M

Oyo State Government has budgeted the sum of N177m to procure essential drugs and other items for free distribution in all public hospitals and health center across the state.

In a statement issued recently in Ibadan by the special adviser on Media, Dr. Festus Adebayo, the procurement of drugs and other necessary items have been approved by the State Executive Council and the State Governor, Abiola Ajumobi.

Furthermore, Adebayo said that the drugs would be supplied by 21 pharmaceutical companies within 30 days and these would cost the state government N177,528,000. Moreso, the drugs and medical consumables would be used in treating common diseases such as malaria and also reduce maternal and child mortality rate in the state.

He added that the present administration places high priority on provision of effective and efficient health services to improve the health status of the people of Oyo state.
