Professor Pat Utomi delivering a lecture at YALDA 2012 |
“Population in Africa plays an important role in economic
development”. In developing Africa, entrepreneurship is a facet of change.
This was made known by Professor Pat Utomi while delivering
a Lecture at the Youth Alliance for Leadership and development in Afica (YALDA
2012).
While delivering a lecture on the theme “How creativity and
innovation is changing Africa and the world and examples Africans can be proud
of” Utomi, said that Entrepreneurship should be about development and creating
values in the economy.
According to Utomi, Change happened in these developed countries because the youth saw the vision for a better economy and worked towards making these visions a reality. Thus, the youths in Africa must work to create an economy of human capital, Utomi said.
Furthermore, he stressed that the world is revolving and we
need to learn how to be creative without waiting to get a white collar job. Prof
Utomi reiterates that youth in the developed countries are moving from being
just human being to be human capital. More so, entrepreneurship should be
treated as how knowledge can be used to create value.'
